Clips, news and insight by Ryan, for the masses!

Heres my deal....I consider myself an Independent Voter, I hold no party affiliation. I voted for Bush Jr. TWICE! Yes, I will admit it. That being said, I am very excited about America's choice in Barack Obama. If nothing more, I believe that it represents a call for change in American politics.

I will try to bash all parties equally, although you will see more right bashing than left. I'm sorry, that's just who I am. Like I said, Obama has struck a cord with me....we will see how long it lasts. I will though take swings at either party when I see something I don't like.

I am what most would call a liberal, so Republican tactics and style really get on my nerves. ALL politicians suck, but I will try to be fair. We live in a great age of information. Everyone should be informed.

We should be looking forward to a new era of American politics where our president encourages public involvement in the presidency and listens to our concerns. I expect Barack Obama to hold up to his end of the deal. If he does not, I will be the first to say so.

Lets give it some time people. We have not been cured of our racism in America, but we are making strides. I am not a religious man. I have my own beliefs, but you will find no religious bias here! I find most people hide behind religion in order to cover up their own prejudice and use their convictions in order to cast judgement.

Tired of me yet? :)

A Wrinkled Flag

Obama and Mccain met on Monday for about 45 minutes. From all accounts it was very civil and constructive. For just how rare this meeting is so quick after the elections, remember this. John Kerry and George Bush didn’t meet until months after the election to “heal”.

I actually hope Mccain works closely with Obama. I think Mccain is working hard to get out from under his terrible campaign. He needs a PR boost and Obama obliged here with this meeting. Hopefully it leads to something productive.

Oh and this is the official version of what happened, via joint press release.

“At this defining moment in history, we believe that Americans of all parties want and need their leaders to come together and change the bad habits of Washington so that we can solve the common and urgent challenges of our time. It is in this spirit that we had a productive conversation today about the need to launch a new era of reform where we take on government waste and bitter partisanship in Washington in order to restore trust in government, and bring back prosperity and opportunity for every hardworking American family. We hope to work together in the days and months ahead on critical challenges like solving our financial crisis, creating a new energy economy, and protecting our nation’s security.”

Oh and can we press the flag please.
